About The Course
3D Modelling: Monet's Spring Pond
Step into the world of 3D construction and turn classic masterpieces into living, multi-dimensional scenes! Inspired by Claude Monet’s iconic water garden paintings, young inventors will engineer a vibrant 3D Spring Pond complete with intricate dragonflies and fairyflies. Children will combine structural sculpting, fine wirework, and delicate paper engineering to bring water lilies, fluttering insects, and reflective aquatic landscapes off the page and into three-dimensional reality.
Children will learn how to:
Engineer Structural 3D Landscapes: Master balance, base building, and paper construction to craft a multi-layered Spring Pond scene.
Sculpt High-Detail Creatures: Use delicate wire, paper-folding, and clay modelling techniques to design intricate dragonflies and fairyflies in motion.
Explore Master Artist Inspiration: Study Monet’s use of light, reflection, and colour palette, applying these fine art principles to 3D sculpture.
Combine Mixed Media for Spatial Depth: Layer translucent materials, metallic accents, and structural elements to create movement and depth.
This course is ideal for any young builder who loves to model, construct, and turn flat ideas into interactive 3D worlds. It’s a hands-on experience that blends fine art history with structural engineering and sculptural design!
All abilities welcome, just bring your imagination and a love of making!
